There are endless varieties of drinks that you can offer your guests, but if you really want to show off and throw a great party you should make cocktails. They are much more classy than wine and beer, and more people will enjoy them. Trying out one or two drinks for a party may be the best way to start because you can use similar liquors, mixes, and garnishes for drinks. Here are the top five cocktails that should be served at any party to remember:

1. Moscow mule
This is a classic cocktail that is rarely served at parties, but when it is it is always a hit. This recipe calls for 2 ounces of vodka, ½ ounce of lime juice, and 6 ounces of ginger beer. You can use whichever type of vodka you like best. To mix this drink you first need to add the lime juice to your serving glass then add a few ice cubes. Next, you need to pour the vodka and add the ginger beer. You can serve this drink with a lime peel and small straw.

2. Whiskey sour
A whiskey sour is the perfect warm weather drink. You need to get 2 ounces of bourbon, ¾ ounce lemon juice, ¾ ounce syrup, and garnish (typically an orange and a maraschino cherry). To miss this drink you need to add the liquids to a shaker and fill it with ice. Then you need to shake the shaker and run through a strainer. Pour this into a serving glass and garnish with your orange and cherry.

3. Cosmopolitan
A cosmopolitan is typically a drink for women, even though it can be enjoyed by everyone. This drink is best served at a girl’s night out function. This drink requires 2 ounces of your favorite vodka, 1 ounce cranberry juice, ¾ ounce lime juice, ¾ ounce triple sec and an orange twist. In a cocktail shaker, you need to add all the liquids then fill with ice. Shake the shaker and run through a strainer. Then pour into a martini glass and top with your orange twist.

4. Gin and tonic
This is a classic and easy to make a drink. You need 2 ounces of gin, 4 ounces of tonic water and a lime wedge. All you need to do is add ice to a serving cub, pour the gin and then pour in the tonic. Garnish with lime and serve.

5. Bloody mary
This is the classic brunch drink but many people drink it during all hours of the day and night. This drink calls for a lot of ingredients including 1 lemon wedge, 1 lime wedge, 2 ounces of vodka, 4 ounces of tomato juice, a couple of dashes of tabasco sauce, 2 teaspoons of prepared horseradish, a couple of dashes of Worcestershire sauce, 1 pinch celery salt, 1 pinch of black pepper, 1 pinch of paprika, and garnishes. To mix this drink properly you need to rub the lemon or lime against the lip of glass then roll the glass lip against salt. Then you must fill the cup with ice. Next, you need to drop the lemon and lime wedge into a shaker and add all the other ingredients. You must shake the drink and strain it into the glass. Top your drink with any garnishes you like.
